And a high-quality hand sanitizer afterwards.🤗
“Kiosks dont roll their eyes at me or treat me differently than other customers.”
And there’s probably less chance “Amish” waiters and cooks will add various bodily fluids to your order, as Jesse Jackson said he did when he was in food service.
You beat me to it. Great minds think alike!
The workers minimum-waged themselves out of a job.
Will there be a spit dispenser next to the ketchup dispenser kiosk so the customers can get the same experience as before automation?
Somewhere, a Millennial is arguing with his parents that its not worth it for him to take a job that pays less than $15 per hour.
I stopped by McDonalds for breakfast for my team last week. Long line at the drive thru so I went inside. Ordered at the kiosk and was in and out in 3-4 minutes. This McDonalds had 6 registers up front and was always busy. Now they have 2 kiosks, one register and almost no wait. There were two or three people ahead of me at the machine I went to but there was still almost no wait. And as a bonus, the machine didn’t ignore me, snarl at me or mumble.
Purell
They’ve actually started using fresh beef in their Quarter Pounders and it’s a huge improvement from what they tried to pass off as beef prior.
Somewhere an unemployed millenial with six figures of college debt for some damn fool liberal arts degree won’t have a hope in heck of getting a job related to automation.
I sometimes use kiosks at Walmart and Home Depot but generally hate the concept.
There’s a gas station near me that just installed them for their checkout. Seems really stupid.
On the east coast, there are three gas station chains that have full deli counters. All ordering is by kiosk. It’s fine if you know what they offer and what you want. I’ve lived here 9 years and hove only used them a handful of times so it takes me quite a while to make my order. I’d rather just have a sign.
It takes 2 seconds to say “Corned beef on rye with mustard”. It takes 3 minutes to navigate through the pages at the kiosk to order the same thing. It is stupid, I agree.
Panera’s has had kiosks for a long time and they work well. It’s the same interface the order-taker uses, pictures of the food with customization features.
The kiosk interface is also the same as their web site, so I order on line and by the time I get to the store (5 minutes) my order is ready.
Very effective.
A doctor insisted friction / heat was the greatest disinfectant and was what killed nasty goombas during their scrub. So a vigorous knuckle rub on my jeans has become SOP.
Of course this has nothng to do with raising the minimum wage /s

And when you get your pastrami on white with mayo, remember this article. /happened to me.
In my area, Sheetz and Speedway both have fast food cafes with touchscreen ordering. Order food, pay for food & gasoline, fill the car, come back, and food is ready.
McD’s is simply catching up to the competition. They also have franchisees to keep happy. So selling them on newfangled kiosks that cost them money out of pocket was something they had to sell them. $15 minimum wage prospect made it easy.
Kiosks could ask you what language you want to speak.
When I lived in Cali (long time ago) my employees spoke twenty different languages.
The kiosk can say it your way!
Those dastardly ATM machines......
I guess they won’t be hurt by the “higher minimum wage” and the Obama health premium increases and thus nobody benefits from these liberal polices, it just hurts people - so Democratic and predictable.
