I really want to make an Internet show, call it Script Doctor or something, and tell them how to make it better.
I mean, even I can write better scripts than these hacks and I’m strictly amateur!
But seriously, for The Last Jedi, all it would take would be some very subtle changes to dialogue and motivations and it could have been so much BETTER. Not good, but better.
To make it actually good, you’d have to make some bigger changes, like make the feminist Mary Sues... not. Which it’s obvious that they’re unwilling to do.

When I went to see Ray Bradbury give a talk one night, that was how he spent part of his presentation (he’d done it professionally and discussed a few movies he’d seen that he was disappointed with that could’ve made some changes for the win).
It’s Disney. The script is run through about sixty PC producers. It’s a movie-by committee. That just produces “average” at best.
