One of the things I like about FR’s web design is that it is pretty much built from scratch. That makes it resistant to a lot of hacker attacks that target these huge prebuilt frameworks.
I don't know anything about the Grant thing, but the Prager I listen to is man enough to admit when he makes mistakes.
No I certainly can't imagine Rush designing anything really.
Rush knows his audience is pro-enforcement on borders and laws and he plays to that, but all the pols he touts are Bush League Republicans hell bent on turning the USA into North Mexico.
He pretty much lost me as a listener when he said Rubio was a “full throated conservative”, and that was after his Amnesty Gang activities.
Ummmm yeah....you obviously are a daily listener.
I was from 1991 until 2015.
Rubio had revealed himself to be a devious traitor already before that with his Amnesty Gang activities.
Ditto. He spends 15 minutes on a topic point that in 1990, he would have spent 5 minutes. Where has the humor gone? I'm sick of hearing about Russia. I could tolerate it once a week, but every day is grating.
There is other political news to talk about. Makes me wonder if Rush fired his researchers.
I'm sure FR's webserver gets the same unsuccessful probes and attacks as well. It's the wild west out there, and getting steadily worse.
I read that about 90% of the code on a typical project today comes from open source libraries. Talk about building in questionable and probably insecure code!
I respect Sean for many reasons but totally agree with your characterizations. Painful.
Prager has some drawbacks but not enough to counteract the good he does. Honestly, that is how I feel.
Amen.
Rush obviously does not have good usability testers. The main reason I use his app is to listen to his show on-demand. I suspect a large fraction of his customer base does the same. The usability of his on-demand show playback is HORRIBLE, especially when you are driving in your car. Micro controls that you cannot hit with a finger tip. The scrubbing control doesn’t work unless you skip forward or backward more than 15 minutes. No auto-advance to the next episode. No skip-ahead 30 seconds button. No indication of the date of the episode you are playing.
It’s even far worse with Microsoft Sync in my Ford Expedition. That’s the worst software ever written by any company anywhere at any time.
prager has a nice range of guests and topics, something Rush can’t and doesn’t want to match. He is a gentleman who seeks clarity before agreement.
I love his topics on morals and ethics. He once asked a group of middle schoole4rs if they would save their dog or a stranger first. Most said their dog. he has done hours on that over time.
He goes to universities and debates liberal students. I like his initiative in pushing conservative causes.
Yes, PragerU is major accomplishment. You Tube has oddly blocked about 10% and i think prayer has a law suit going.
The humor is definitely gone which is too bad. I really miss the parodies he had done for the show. Most of them were absolutely hilarious. I never heard why he quit making those.
Only way I can explain it is, Sean does the extraneous stuff to fill up the time. Same for the long collages and speech excerpts.
(When he starts one of those collages coming back from the news, I turn off the radio for a few minutes knowing it’ll last that long.)
If you’re accessing 24/7 via the web, it’s a horrid UI. The site is built in WordPress and the player, Akamai Media Player, has near useless controls, especially when scaled to mobile. The site could be so much better with other off-the-shelf WordPress plugins and themes.
Worse, that player doesn’t function in MS Edge (cuts off), so if you’re in the Windows 10 world, forget it, just download the mp3s and play on your own. To listen live, I just go to to iHeart.
Rush thinks his apps are the latest, greatest. The funny thing is that Progressive Web Apps will be taking over soon, and even Apple will have to go that route in order to merge apps across OS’s.
just teasing you
