There was a smoking lounge on the Hindenburg, but that didn’t work out so well.
I remember being served a four pack of smokes with every meal! In economy!
Yes and decades ago smoking of any type was banned on airliners
“Im old enough to remember when commercial airlines had an ashtray built into every seat on the plane...”
Gawd, you are old!
(Me too. It was unbearable to sit next to a smoker on a flight.)
And the instant the NO SMOKING light went out, the cabin would fill up with smoke for about twenty minutes till all the smokers got their “hit”.
Meanwhile, the non-smokers would have to choke as the fresh air vent did not help one bit. And when you finally got off the plane everyone stank like cigarettes.
I remember one man constantly sneezing for almost 20 minutes because of the smoke.
The inflight meal came with two cigarettes.
