The pilot needed a safe space. Talk about over reacting! Ground a plane because someone lit up?! This country is being over run by pansies.

Well, the article says that a fire alarm went off. It's not unreasonable to make sure something really isn't on fire.
The stupidest aspect of this story is that the flight from SFO to Burbank is actually under 1 hour in the air. How much of a pot fiend do you have to be that you can't even wait 50 minutes or so?

Suppose the drug addled azz hole had started a fire.

Youre no better than the guy in the loo
The plane was diverted because a fire/smoke alarm went off. They are required to divert so the plane can be inspected. Same would have happened with a regular smoke

The pilot comes on the intercom and sez...
“Ladies and gentlemen...just ignore that smoke alarm. We’re traveling at 350 knots and the wind should blow out any onboard fire.”

I believe pressured air in planrs is recirculated. So everyone in plane will get a whiff of pot including the pilot and crew. Second hand smoke y’all. Not to mention potential fire in a closed space. Perp was a dufus...endangered all of them. Could have been a test for circulating other toxic vapors in closed space....could that have happened in malaysia?
