Thing is, nothing, and I mean there is NO EVIDENCE that species can somehow start as a reptile and over time become mammalian, for example.

...

Both are eukaryotes. Both are vertebrates. Both are tetrapods. They seem to have a lot in common.

But the fact is mammals didn’t evolve from reptiles. They have a common ancestor.

Why you would imply that evolution says mammals evolved from reptiles I don’t know for sure.

It posits that humans evolved from lower species. Full stop.

There’s no evidence to support it.

710 in NY reporting the Roseanne Barr story said Jarrett is “Black”. This is news to me.

You’ve already given evidence that you’re not that knowledgeable of biology. Why is your opinion credible?

Couldn’t pick his nose either.

Lol!

The FOX News story is based on the NATURE article linked below and and it has a hi-res scan of the creature’s skull on which mammalian features, especially dental ones were observed. The NATURE article also has a comprehensive graphic of Mesozoic mammal species evolutionary family tree development over time.

Beat me to it. I've always said she's a reptilian looking bitch. She has the kind of face I'd love to kick in with a steel toed boot.

Oh indeed. Humans spent one thousand some years shutting down the Heliocentric theory for the incorrect Geocentric. This seems like a rather silly debate, when compared.

It’s not. It’s mammalian.

I totally agree. Based on the evidence around 2014, I thought this debate was over. The new findings in this article show nothing new to prove 'reptilian'. They just seem to still be calling them reptilian-mammals.

In fact, I actually found one of those old articles with a pretty solid reply that it is mammal: “For decades, scientists have been debating whether the extinct group, called Haramiyida, belongs within or outside of Mammalia,” said co-author Jin Meng, a curator in the Museum’s Division of Paleontology. “Previously, everything we knew about these animals was based on fragmented jaws and isolated teeth. But the new specimens we discovered are extremely well preserved. And based on these fossils, we now have a good idea of what these animals really looked like, which confirms that they are, indeed, mammals.”

Proof of ValJar lineage

She's actually a mammal-like reptile but the confusion is understandable.

In fact, the trend is to call the ancestors of the mammals, and their entire side of amniote family tree, “synapsids” instead of “reptiles.”
