I cannot quote anything from the last several Star Wars films but these from the originals I can remember.

>>What’s the issue, seems logical to me. If I were the main character it’s how I would do it all. Oh wait, that’s the definition of Mary Sue, isn’t it. Well shoot.<<

Best damn summary ever.

No interest either. I’ve been disinterested after The Force Awakens, and after what I heard of the Last Jedi, I definitely don’t plan to go see any other movies. And after what they did to Lando, I have no interest in seeing Solo.

Most of Disney’s run with Star Wars has also been crap, really, from most of the Marvel stories (especially the ones dealing with the aftermath of Return of the Jedi) to Star Wars Rebels to the two Battlefront games to the Aftermath Trilogy by Chuck Wendig. In fact, I can name only two stories that actually WERE good under Disney: Rogue One and the SCAR Trooper story).

Granted, I can’t say Star Wars was ever the most conservative film series out there, not after George Lucas outright admitted that he based the Rebels on the Vietcong, but Disney took it even further to the left than Lucas did in the Prequel Trilogy.

No Lando is a Pansexual, whatever that means.

Unfortunately, the Prequel Trilogy already did away with the good the Jedi stood for by making them moral nihilists and people so against attachments they actually hate having familial relationships. In fact, you could argue they did away with that as early as Return of the Jedi when they had Obi Wan pretty much promoting moral relativism.

Yeah, I’m not sure droids even have any sexuality at all, let alone LGBT sexuality. Even with his mannerisms (which to be fair, Anthony Daniels is British), C-3PO is most likely asexual.

No Lando is a Pansexual, whatever that means.

It means "homosexual" and "beastophile" because nobody cares about the heterosexual part of "pansexual"

This is just another effort of our "Moral superiors" trying to blur the lines between normal and perverse. They think by making someone like men as well as women, it reduces the psychological distance between Normal and sick.

Hmmmm....so in other words a sex fiend. And Lando is Black, correct? So they're feeding into the stereotype that blacks are sexual predators...that's pretty racist, no?

Not when they're homo. Then it's okay to be a sexual predator. (Also a closer reflection of the reality of homosexual life.)

You and 99.99% of people who TRULY loved SW. Many consider 1-3 to be travesties, the awful level inverse to the episode #.

And 2/3 ruined Hayden Christensen’s career (assuming he would have had one). His terrible performance as the whiny Anakin pretty much ruined Darth Vader for everyone.

I’m taking my grandson, he really wants to see it.

A Star Wars movie without Darth Vader is a let-down for me.

I’ve heard that next summer there will be a Star Wars Darth Vader movie coming out. If so, I’ll be sure to go see it.

Darth Vader is the most loved character of the franchise. He may be the villain (most of the time), but people love a great villain.

Ditto here. I even wore a Darth Vader T-shirt back in the day.

I was also pro-Empire. They seemed not only powerful, but sensible. I can't stand people caught up in idealism, like Princess Leia.

You’re definitely not going to like the Rebels’ inspiration then: They were based on the Vietcong. Don’t believe me? Lucas makes it very plain and clear in these sources:

In fact, technically, by rooting for the Empire, you’re also showing your patriotism to America as a good thing, since the Empire according to Lucas was based on America during the Vietnam War.

I’d prefer to view Darth Vader as Lenin, Stalin, Mao, etc.
Socialist always force those who disagree with them to submit by shouting them down, or destroying them. Communism, National Socialist, and Antifa are just different sides of the same coin.

Unfortunately, you haven’t created Star Wars, so it ultimately doesn’t matter what you say about Vader. And I’d say the same thing about myself if I used your argument, so don’t think for a second that I don’t agree with you. Actually, I agree with you that the Socialists always resort to force on those who disagree with them, and that Communism, National Socialism, and Antifa are one and the same. Heck, technically, Democracy itself is one of the same, at least the democracy promoted by the French Revolutionaries.

Besides, some EU stuff definitely had the Rebels engaging in behavior more befitting of the Jacobins, the Bolsheviks, and others. Like for example, Children of the Jedi had a flashback to when the Rebels liberated Coruscant. Let’s just say that Leia’s recollections would bring to mind the September Massacres or the October Surprise. Here’s the quote if you’re interested:

“Silent in the narrow alleyway, Leia recalled the day the Rebels had taken Coruscant. The Emperor’s palace - that endless, gorgeous maze of crystal roofs, hanging gardens, pyramids of green and blue marble shining with gold... summer quarters, winter quarters, treasuries, pavilions, music rooms, prisons, halls... grace-and-favor residences for concubines, ministers, and trained assassins—had been shelled hard and partially looted already, Rebel partisans having killed whichever members of the Court they could catch. These had included, if Leia remembered correctly, not only the President of the Bureau of Punishments and the head of the Emperor’s School of Torturers, but the court clothing designer and any number of minor and completely innocent servants of all ages, species, and sexes whose names had never even been reported.”

And here’s the scan showing that quote:

https://i.redd.it/n33r15e8tbg01.jpg

There’s more out there as well, both old and new EU.

Sorry about your Dad, Ray. I went to the first local showing of Solo yesterday and very much enjoyed the film. I recommend it to anyone who hates the evils of tyranny, and especially to folks who might be all interested in such things as how Solo met Chewy.
