Other dogs have gone after my 1 year old lab 3 times. In every instance it was a pit bull. The last one I jumped on top of, wrapped my hands around its throat and dug my thumbs in so deep I swear they were almost pressed up against its spine.

I’d prefer not to have to do that again. Hopefully my ccw will come through in the next month or so. Once it does if a pit bull attacks me or mine when we’re out in the park or wherever, I’ll just shoot it on the spot.

To stop a dog attack, fire extinguishers have been found very useful, particularly the CO2 and dry-type. Aim for the mouth and nose to cut off breathing. One can now purchase hand-held extinguishers.

How is it they were able to go after your dog?
Was the owner present? Were they running loose? Jumped a fence?
