I need a couple of real owl feathers. Have a creek down below my back yard and the rats are getting braver and coming to my garbage cans. Read online that owl feathers will keep them away. Only found fake ones on Ebay and Amazon. Any ideas?

Not heard of the owl feather technique. Interesting...but not surprising. Prey-type animals genetically know the score on scents and motions where harm is afoot.

Here where I am in GA I am greeted by a 5AM barred owl call about twice per week in these months. Always get a hoot (ahem) from the barred call: “who-cooks-for-you....who cooks for you...y’all. Gotta love the south accent touch!

Last year there was a real lazy owl dude that just did the “y’all” shout out. Skipped all the preface stuff. Funny as hell. Guess his/ her heart wasn’t feelin’ it that morning.

I read where if an eagle has a kill, it will back off from the feast and defer to a great horned owl if that owl decides what’s yours is really mine.

“Help yourself, sir! Side dish with that?”
