I noticed your comment, mkmensinger, about Donald Jr. speaking about the D5 as construction equipment.... and baggie and others talking about the D5 being an avalanche.

I decided to see if I could confirm mk's recollection (and mine) that Don Jr was speaking of a D5.

As I was digging around I tripped over the following, which I think could very possibly be a significant alternate meaning to the "D5" reference. I was not able to find what I was looking for, but perhaps after seeing following you might forgive me:

It has Deep State, Foundations, and all manner of Social Justice tied in with it:

THIS IS THE Q DROP CONTAINING REFERENCE TO D5:

D5 - Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy

Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Over 5 Years

Learn More: What is Diversity,Equity, and Inclusion?

D5 was a five-year coalition to advance philanthropy’s diversity, equity, and inclusion. As our constituencies become increasingly diverse, we need to understand and reflect their rich variety of perspectives in order to achieve greater impact.

To meet this challenge, philanthropic, community and thought leaders are all coming together in an ambitious effort. We started in 2010—by forming an unprecedented coalition of 18 infrastructure organizations and setting a strategic agenda to help philanthropy become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. It became a growing collaboration of foundations large and small, individual donors, regional and national associations, and organizations that focus on diverse communities. Together, it was a powerful, national network with the potential to impact philanthropy at every level.

D5 built on the achievements and lessons of many in the field. The decades-long work of affinity groups and other partners on diversity issues are essential building blocks of D5's work going forward. In 2007, 50 foundations and allied leaders began the Diversity in Philanthropy Project (DPP), a time-limited campaign to expand diversity in the field. D5 was the culmination of this effort.

Who We Are:

Kelly Brown
is Director of the D5 Coalition, a five-year, effort to increase philanthropy’s diversity, equity and inclusiveness. Prior to this she was Principal Consultant at Viewpoint Consulting, which provides program design, planning, research, and facilitation services to nonprofits, philanthropic organizations and individuals investing resources to strengthen underserved communities.

Leadership Team

There were many individuals who served on D5’s Leadership Team over the five-year initiative and brought a great deal of insight and strategic direction to the work. Below are the individuals who most recently served in this role.

Maricela Espinoza-Garcia, AriGoio Communications

Carly Hare, CHANGE Philanthropy (formerly Joint Affinity Groups)

Mae Hong, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors

Mary O’Neill, United Philanthropy Forum (formerly Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers)

Lawrence McGill, Foundation Center

Kristopher Smith, formerly with Funders’ Network

Sylvia Zaldivar, formerly with Lake Country Community Foundation and Maestro Cares Foundation

WHAT IS DEI?

Diversity

The word “diversity” can mean different things to different people. We’ve defined it broadly to encompass the demographic mix of a specific collection of people, taking into account elements of human difference, but focusing particularly on:

• Racial and ethnic groups: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Hispanics/Latinos/Latinas, African Americans and blacks, and American Indians and Alaska Natives

• LGBT populations

• People with disabilities

• Women

D5 uses this broad definition of diversity for three reasons.

First, this is what diversity looks like in the 21st century.

Second, our definition encompasses populations that historically have been—and remain —underrepresented in grantmaking and among practitioners in the field, and marginalized in the broader society.

Third, to be a national leader, organized philanthropy must get in front of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues and do so in a comprehensive way. We acknowledge and respect that this is one of many ways to define diversity, a concept that can encompass many other human differences as well.

Equity

Improving equity is to promote justice, impartiality and fairness within the procedures, processes, and distribution of resources by institutions or systems. Tackling equity issues requires an understanding of the underlying or root causes of outcome disparities within our society.

Inclusion

Refers to the degree to which diverse individuals are able to participate fully in the decisionmaking processes within an organization or group. While a truly “inclusive” group is necessarily diverse, a “diverse” group may or may not be “inclusive.”

As stated earlier, these people are all wrapped up in FOUNDATIONS - PHILANTHROPY- SOCIAL JUSTICE Definite tie in with Rockefeller Foundation exists among them as well.
