This, like the branch davidian's issues in Waco are an often misunderstood issue by those outside the area. (1) David Koresh went to town on a regular basis. He could have been picked up without incident.
(2) Officers (low key) could have went to the compound and asked everyone to exit and talk to everyone to see who wanted to leave and see if the children wanted to leave. The debacle that followed was predictable. It was a disaster and meant to be a disaster.
(3) The biker thing follows the same pattern. The police knew in advance there would be a fight (probably of their making) and did nothing to defuse it. Again, they wanted a disaster.

Two more points: A) the warrant related to alleged firearms violations, NOT child abuse (last I heard, it's not ATFE&ChildAbuse); & B) why a "no-knock" warrant? The so called 'compound' had pit toilets, and you can't exactly flush an automatic weapon down the john, anyway...

I saw him out, he was regularly with his captives. It presented a huge risk to them to "pick him up".
Officers went to the compound on multiple occasions.
Nope, I know the "police", and the last thing they wanted was a fight.
