“Resident Lana Simmons says her children love it. She says it’s something they look forward to.”

Hmmm.

When our rural school paired with a couple of other rural schools, we discovered that we were the only one that didn’t have a “spanking gauntlet” on birthdays at school. Other schools had kids (elementary) line up in two rows and the birthday kid would run in between them and get lots of spanks.

We thought it was bizarre and they were all baffled that we didn’t do that. An old tradition, I guess.

It’s true. And it’s just a tap. Kids are given a choice ... high five, hug, or spank. Most choose the spanking out of fun. Local news covered it ... they didn’t find one single person against it.
