I liked Nick, in spite of his drug addiction. I’ll miss him.

I like Nick’s sister Alicia, too. She’s an attractive young woman, but too low key to make up for Nick’s now permanent absence.

Yeah, that character got better in season 3. Was the only one worth liking anymore. If they develop this cowboy character and the reporter, it might still be worth watching. They’re interesting. But at this point, I’m not big on the show anymore.
