Karl Marx a tool to 'win the future' for China, Xi Jinping says

Ahead of Karl Marx’s 200th birthday on Saturday, Xi Jinping referred to the German philosopher as “the greatest thinker of modern times,” calling his theories on communism a tool for China to “win the future.”

According to the official Xinhua News Agency, he said Marx’s name was “still respected all over the world” and that “his theory shines with the brilliant light of truth.” He also claimed that putting “Marxism onto the flag of the Chinese Communist party was totally correct.” […]

Xi has instructed all party members to read Marxist works and to adopt Marxist theories as a “way of life” and a “spiritual pursuit.”

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, meanwhile, sounded a more critical note in a speech honoring Marx on Thursday. He praised him as “one of the great German thinkers” despite being contradictory. However, he emphasized that Marx’s thinking was “rigid,” and that it was impossible to separate his theories from the negative effects they had in socialist and communist countries. […]

“We shouldn’t fear Marx, but we don’t need to build any golden statues to him either,” Steinmeier said. …

Which is it? Are they Marxist now, or were they Marxist in the 1970s when they were in bare feet and empty rice bowls?

I wish it still were the 1970s version. Then they’d be less of a threat to us and everybody in the region.

That the American Left doesn’t care about years of Clinton and Democrat collusion with the ChiComs is ample evidence that the ChiComs really are still communist who have latched onto corporatism as a way to survive and grow strong.

And that they are so easily riled about the Russians is evidence that they really aren’t commies anymore.

That’ll be a long wait. Nobody in Red China has experienced any such overthrow.

He isn’t the embodiment of the left?

Well, so-called “corporatism” is just the fascist version of the same old communism. Mussolini always talked like a communist even as a fascist.
“Fascism establishes the real equality of individuals before the nation… the object of the regime in the economic field is to ensure higher social justice for the whole of the Italian people… What does social justice mean? It means work guaranteed, fair wages, decent homes; it means the possibility of continuous evolution and improvement. Nor is this enough. It means that the workers must enter more and more intimately into the productive process and share its necessary discipline… As the past century was the century of capitalist power, the twentieth century is the century of power and glory of labor.”

— From “Four Speeches on the Corporate State”, Rome, 1935
See any difference between that rhetoric and that of Marx, other than the word “fascism”?

Pol Pot studied Marxism in Paris for 3 years. Having been sufficiently enlightened, he returned to Cambodia and slaughtered a quarter of its population.

The great sin of fascism that neither socialist nor communist can forgive it is that it seeks the same goals and the preeminence of the State BUT without wealth redistribution or elimination of private property respectively.

Fascism, all that new-pagan racist BS of Nazism aside, is the most moderate form of the far left, not the far right.

Proper Adam Smith enconomics and all of classical American liberalism are in fact to the right of all of the Left’s twaddle.

Karl Marx was anything but a ‘great man’. His legacy is death and suffering for millions. He was a lazy POS who leeched from his father and from Engels (who also leeched from his family). Ironically, the recent rise of China has occurred because they began embracing capitalism - albeit with total government control.

If I were in charge of elementary and high school curriculum, I would have mandatory courses on communism and socialism related pain, suffering, and deaths, and emphasize how the actual result of their implementation is to suppress individuals and create totalitarianism.

The globalists empowered China and now China is kicking them in the butt. What else did they expect?

The Venezuelans voted for Socialist Hugo Chavez and now they are starving. You vote for a Socialist once and that is the only vote you are ever going to get.

I saw a photo of a Venezuelan man standing over a skinned dog that he is about to eat and probably serve to his family as well. Tragic!

Marxism is the official reason why Xi and the CPC have power.

If Marxism is admitted to be untrue, they are all out of jobs and in the street.

Or more likely there would be a bloody struggle for power.

So the rulers praise Marx and do what they want to do without much regard to Marxism and cross their fingers and hope for the best.

So much for the faith people put in China; how great it is, how it’s reformed and “capitalistic” now, etc. Actually, it’s like Democratic Socialism as practiced in Europe, even more so. That’s the way the world, outside the U.S. is heading, and we are being drawn into it’s vortex daily, but for Trump.

“Xi Jinping referred to the German philosopher as “the greatest thinker of modern times,” calling his theories on communism a tool for China to “win the future.”

Is that why China has shifted towards capitalism over the last few years? I dare you to switch your economy back to Marxism, Xi, you lyin’ fool. We will send you Ambassador Bernie Sanders if you need help in getting back to Marxism

Well, China's still a dictatorship.

But it's not this any more:
