LOL You and my son! the AF came to our home town in MO when my kid was around 10. They had simulators set up in a trailer. I still have the card they gave him. He flew to the target and completed the mission. I flew around in circles. When he got his ASVAB scores and was talking to the Corps recruiter, flipping through the MOS book, the recruiter asked if he wanted to be a navigator. He shook his head. Infantry. ;)
I asked him after he got back from the Stan if he had seen any A-10s but they weren’t in his area.
We get the A-10 at the Chino CA. airshow next weekend. My house is right under the Flight Path as the planes loop around back to the Airport after a pass. Nice show with many Mustangs, P-38’s, Corsairs, Mitchell’s and so on. Get a Mitsu now and then, I think only a couple are still flying. Last year the Northorp flying Wing (1942) made an appearance which is housed in the Chino Airports Planes of Fame Museum.
