You might be right about the View. We used to have a box similar to the one you describe.

We activate our Cat Genie manually, running it once a day.

It scoops out the solid waste, then washes and dries the litter, then pumps all the waste into an adjacent toilet. We still have to flush the toilet after the cleaning cycle is over - the cats have not yet figured out how - and I’m not sure I want them to know.

I manage apts. and one of our residents had one. It malfunctioned while she was out of town and the toilet ran continually. It was before we had installed the low flows, 6.1 gallons of water every minute wasted.

Her neighbor said she heard the water running for 2 days, only because she stayed home from work because she was sick.

She ran our water bill up drasticly. We disconnected it for her while she was out of town. It smelled horrible. Brand new carpet destroyed in a year.

She moved shortly after that and thought we wouldn’t sue her because she is a collection manager.
