Britain's six-time 'Curry Capital' is in a bit of a pickle after its rivers were stained BRIGHT YELLOW in a plumbing mishap.

The popular Indian dish has been flowing straight into the underground river through Bradford, in West Yorkshire.

It turns out that thanks to the city's ancient plumbing system, curry houses had no idea that their washing up water was finding its way into the River Aire.

The system means age-old buildings often dump their waste into its subterranean becks.

One of the major culprits are Indian catering businesses whose washing-up pipes were not directed to the sewerage system.

Instead, each time they were cleaning their dishes the Bradford Beck - a river which feeds into the River Aire - was being flooded with leftover curry.

Agree completely. A tragedy of the same magnitude as an overturned beer truck.

We had curry last night. Lovely.

Just throw some chicken, sweet potatoes, rice and onions in that river and invite a crowd.

Come to think of it, I have a (newer) copy of the Isaac Walton fishing book written back in the what? 1600s or so? And I do recall crawfish mentioned as bait. I’ve got to dig it out for a look!
