Does anybody remember that “Skyrockets in Flight” song?

Great. An earworm.

Like you user name.
I’m a little more old school than
you evidently. I don’t recognize a
single song title you mentioned.
Now if you’re talking The Hollies,
Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, Linda
Ronstadt, Carly Simon, James Taylor,
Gordon Lightfoot, Deep Purple, The
Eagles, Bread, Steve Earl, Credence
Clearwater Revival, Jackson Brown,
Jim Croce, then yes, they are
performers the evoke strong
memories. (for me).

Afternoon Delight: Starland Vocal Band.

They wrote/backed with John Denver on Country Roads, as I recall.

Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets” takes me back to junior high when I had my first experience with puppy love. The Doobies’ “Black Water” takes me back to high school, singing that song in the shower after football or basketball practice with one of my best buddies, who died from pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago. The Eagles “Hotel California” takes me to my freshman year of college where I met a lot of new friends. Seger and “We’ve Got Tonight” takes me back to the woman that broke my heart and got away . . . I still love her and see her often. Kenny Rogers’ “Lady” takes me to the girl I married, the mother of my sons, and from whom I have been divorced for 17 years.

I’m kinda like Peter Pan from the movie “Hook” . . . sometimes I have trouble finding my happy thought.

“Skyrockets in Flight”

Do you mean, “Afternoon Delight”? Hearing that one takes me back to a certain place, time, and person when I heard it the first time on the radio.

Yes, I specifically remember that late June afternoon when we drove past the fireworks stand with the blonde bending over the counter in her flag-themed halter top and cutoff denim shorts.
