David Hogg gifts Laura Ingraham with 20% more traffic

What if they gave a boycott and everyone bought? Looks like the case with high school gun control activist David Hogg after Fox News host and radio star Laura Ingraham hurt his feelings on Twitter and he responded with a call for a nationwide advertiser boycott of Ingraham's television show.

According to Breitbart News, citing Newsbusters:

A campaign led by anti-gun activist David Hogg aimed at the advertisers of Laura Ingraham's Fox News show The Ingraham Angle appears to have backfired, as her ratings have reportedly risen by over 20 percent.

"Since Ingraham returned from vacation on April 9, total viewership of her program has averaged about 2.7 million (Monday through Thursday; Friday's numbers are not available)," Newsbusters reported.

"Compare that to the ratings from March 26 through March 29, the Monday through Thursday just prior to the boycott: That week, Ingraham's total viewership averaged 2.23 million," it continued. "The increase in her ratings since the boycott began is more than 20 percent."

Seems that Hogg's petulant refusal to accept Ingraham's apology for an off-the-cuff rude tweet, followed by his massive tantrum calling for millions to be pulled from Ingraham's show, didn't go over well with potential viewers – who apparently flocked to Ingraham's show. Who knows: maybe they enjoy ad-free TV. But more likely, they wanted to support Ingraham, and this was the best way to do it. Hogg made things worse for himself by aligning himself with Washington's sleaziest operation, Media Matters, a far-left smear outfit bankrolled by billionaires and dedicated to silencing dissident voices, particularly those at Fox News. That act shifted Hogg's cause from gun control, always a loser with the public, to media control, an even bigger loser's cause.

Hogg gleefully thought he had Ingraham over a barrel and was briefly amazed at

A phony victim milking a tragedy for his own popularity. In a sane society this little $#!+ would be called out for what he is. Instead he’s the Left’s hero.

Hey Hogg, didn’t you know? You’ve got to be a man to play in Laura’s league.

I hope the sponsors who dropped her suffered as much as she gained.

Plenty of ads still showing on Ingraham’s show. I assume advertisers normally elbowed out by bigger spenders have jumped at the chance for prime time advertising

Hopefully David Hogg’s 15 minutes of fame are up and we’ll go back to never hearing about him again.

David....Laura only repeated what you said on twitter. It's called the Free Press.

And so...you initiated a hate campaign for absolutely no reason.

Obviously, there are a lot of folks that disagree with your "self righteous" tactics.

You'll never be a journalist....just a kid with a big mouth.

Your are quite right, FRiend Blowhard.

I expect Hogg to end up in total obscurity, much as happened to Cindy Sheehan after her brief celebrity more than a decade ago.

There is a difference here, however. Sheehan was annoying but ultimately pathetic. The fact that she lost a son in the war gave her some credibility — even though it emerged that she was largely estranged from her family. Sheehan represented no threat to anyone.

Hogg, on the other hand, has been compared to Robespierre and Hitler. Nearly every picture I’ve seen of Hogg shows him with a maniacal gleam in his eyes.

I would not be surprised at all to see Hogg go completely mad. He has the fanaticism of a terrorist. Only the fact that he’s a weakling and an incompetent — and, deep down, knows his own inadequacies — will prevent him from harming others.

I’m going to Panera’s for lunch and buying a My Pillow later today and I will let them know it’s because I saw their adds on Laura’s show last night.

The My Pillow guy is the best of the bunch. He’s one of the only (maybe the only) corporate guy who understands left-wing ‘boycotts’ of conservative shows mean nothing, because, A: Leftists don’t buy stuff advertised on conservative shows in the first place; and B: The so-called ‘boycotts’ are actually astroturfing (i.e., a small group of people pretending to be a big group)...and the number of people participating in them is minuscule, at best.

And he knows one other thing: If he not only ignores the Leftist calls for boycotting, but actually takes a strong stand against the boycott (rather than doing nothing), there’s a HUGE MARKET of conservatives ready to buy his product, just to send a message to the Left, if nothing else.

(I know, this sounds like an advertisement, but I don’t know of any other company taking a strong stand for freedom here)

In a sane society, he'd already have been beaten up by some of the other kids in school. Someday he is going to learn - and it will hurt - that screaming insults at others only works until you meet someone who decides to shut you down.

I was lucky. I was about his age when a guy picked me up with one hand, shook me, and told me if I didn't learn to control my mouth, I'd have a mouth with no teeth. Then he dropped me...and walked away. And I learned that the real world isn't like school without ending up in a hospital.

Yes, you can’t take your high school attitude into the real world and expect it to work as usual. But I don’t think that liberals even have the intellectual capacity to grow beyond their high school mentality in a lot of cases. How can a lot of them just go through life whining about everything? They’re like kids in a supermarket a lot of the time. Always wanting this, that, and crying if they can’t get it.

No way! Keep the bitter little socialist gun grabbing blowhard front and center from through November. Get that angry little mug in front of the voters as much as possible. Tie him around the Donkey’s necks and smoke them out on the issue of repealing the second amendment.

I predict soon that we see more and more advertisers waking up and telling these Social Media Nazis to f-off...can’t wait.
