The ocean is magical though. We lived in Manhattan Beach with a view of the ocean from our living room and I couldn’t get enough. Just the smell, he different colors of the water, wondering what those fishermen were doing at night with their lights on... the fresh moist air... if I won $3 million I’m going back.
Still, I could live without it. Water is magical, and lakes and rivers and even streams fill the bill.

I do love water also. And the smell of the salt spray is nice. But it messes up my glasses and dries out my skin. Just a personal preference not to be around it.
But give me a gurgling brook or a river with little waterfalls any day! We live not too far from the creek, although I really wish it was on our property. We only have an ugly muddy pond.
