I use diphenhydramine. Not that sleepy. Unless they really overdosed the kids and themselves.

Yeah, Benadryl helps me, but doesn’t knock me out.
Diphenhydramine and other antihistamines that pass the blood brain barrier definitely are linked to later dementia (The incidence of dementia is higher in those who regularly used these). Try to reduce use or switch to a different class of antihistamine. This advice didn’t cost you anything but might be worth its weight in sage.
