As I watch the show, I see the following ex-stars usually winning:

1) Members of Boy or Gilr Bands (e.g. Donny Osmond, Nicole Scherzinger )

2) Gymnasts ( e.g. Laurie Hernandez and Shawn Johnson ).

3) Figure Skaters ( e.g. Kristi Yamaguchi, Meryl Davis )

They have the advantage of past experience.

Im not sure what the point is sending Kareem Abudul Jabbar, Johnny Damon and Tonya out there

Haven’t a couple of NFL guys won too? I know one has (I can’t remember who it was) and I think maybe there were 2. Of course they are strong and also used to being coached.

As for Donny Osmond or Nicole Scherziner, they must have had SOME dance training in their careers.

I don’t watch this show, but I have watched “So you think you can dance” and I really have gotten an appreciation of dance out of it, and that says a lot good about the show I’d say.
