I’ve known several people who entered the Naval Aviation program. I’ve known a bunch who went to Air Force flight training.

Both programs are brutal and they are merit based. I only knew one classmate who failed out of the USAF training.

Of the three Naval Aviator trainees I knew, only one graduated.

ALL of them have told me that it was insane training. And if your heart was not in 100%, 100% of the time...you would not make it.

So, when the guy said that he was not great in all disciplines...he admitting that he wasn’t good enough.

He should have told them he was actually a girl in a man's body.

They would have pinned his wings on right then.

When you’re not good enough in anything you play the race card.

Other than having 2020 vision, what’s his qualification?

He barely passed the written, not surprising for a mechanic from a transport squadron.

He should have gone all out to work his way through. Probably thought he was a cinch because he was black, and knew he could scream “racism!” if he didn’t pass.

Does anyone want a guy like that in charge of an F-18? Would anyone want him on their wing?

Non issue in my opinion. I served in a rag outfit for 4 years and seen many oh white pilots get dropped to know better.

Maybe it’s like basketball. Blacks are very good, whites are not. Blacks are overly represented, whites are not.

While he acknowledges he struggled in some disciplines, he believes that...

He sucked, but he believes that it was something else that caused him to wash-out. Irony is ironic.

And that was everyone else's fault but his own.

There is a picture of the failure at the site. Who knew there is always an African excuse to pin on everything but their own poor behavior. None of their failures are ever their fault, ever. I would like to see his transcripts. For that matter, I would also like to see the Obama’s transcripts from STEM classes that are completely objective. We all know that won’t happen.

I remember several years ago, the Navy was insisting that they get a woman certified as a carrier based pilot. The only woman they had in the program was allowed to be recycled two or three times after failing tests. She ended up crashing and getting killed on her first solo attempt to land on a carrier. She was essentially sacrificed on the alter of political correctness and militant feminism.

So, he admits he is less than stellar in some respects, but he still thinks he should be moved to the top?

And that is what jet fighter pilots need to be- the top. They have far more people that want to be pilots than positions available, so they can choose only the best.

Occasionally some doofus makes it and crashes their plane (like McCain) or sets an aircraft carrier on fire (like McCain) or gets 127 men killed (like McCain).

Does he think we need an ‘affirmative action’ program for jet pilots?

Should the Navy lower their training standards to pass this airman?
And put crew and other aviators at risk.

No.

Maybe the Navy can find a plane he can fly that matches his
abilities.

There are still many careers and ventures in life where the principle is antelopes v cheetahs, only the best survive, and political correctness can’t penetrate.

No worries, no doubt medical school and neurosurgery residency await!
Or there’s always air traffic control.
