To Joan Baez singing Villa Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras. Strange goes with strange. Kate Sage was married to Yves Tanguy, but I have to admit I like her work better than his.
My favorite artist of the set is Delvaux. I fell in love with his Village of the Mermaids at Chicago's Art Institute.

The Baez along with the art was surreal. Loved it. Thanks again.
Well said! You’re most and very welcome.
Husband hates the music so I had to edit at night when he was sleeping. But I adored it. Working now on ancient Chinese paintings. Had two classes in that and it’s bringing back such great memories.
Very interesting. I am familiar with Dali and Magritte but I know nothing of the others. I saw the Crucifixion painting by Dali in the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow, Scotland a couple summers ago. The photo doesn’t do it justice.
A little trivia about that painting: the guy who managed the museum convinced Dali to sell that painting to Kelvingrove for some relatively small price (It was all the money the museum had available and was a huge financial risk for the museum). Dali agreed. This guy went one step further and convinced Dali to give the intellectual property rights to that painting to Kelvingrove. The royalties from that one painting are substantial and allows Kelvingrove to survive. Pretty clever guy. (I can’t remember his name - I’d have to dig up my journal from the trip).
Thanks for these videos. You do a wonderful job on them.
How exciting that you actually SAW it! Even the photo is breathtaking. The original must be transfixing. Wonderful story about the Kelvingrove. That guy really accomplished something.
I’m from Chicago, and the Art Institute has a huge modern collection. Delvaux is the one that took over my head. That was the first painting I’d head for, then wander away bemused.
I’m so very glad you’re liking them. It feels like I’m pulling together my youth with my age, and I’m enjoying it hugely. This Chinese art is going to take a while to organize. I’d forgotten much beyond Shang bronzes. Very, very slowly I’m starting to remember some of the artist names. I’ve ordered the music from Amazon and am really excited.
Now what in the world can I possibly use as music for ancient cave art?????
