It's probably true that fake news is more obvious from a distance, and phony anything invites ridicule.

It's also true that Europe is sinking as its very foundations are undermined by scorn of truth. In some European nations, it is a crime, punishable by severe penalties, to speak the truth. How could anything be more absurd?
