Which churches did your grandfather work on in Hartford? Our Lady of Sorrows is beautiful.

He came from Italy in 1885 and worked all over the greater Hartford area, Hartford does have beautiful Churches....my uncles from Hartford were two WWII decorated soldiers, one fighting in the Pacific Theater Island campaign, and the other fighting with General George Patton, the third Army, in the European Theater of operations.

I spent a lot of time in Hartford when I was very young. My Grandma loved this country, she spoke only broken Engish...but, she used to take my little five year old hand and walk with me to the railroad crossing near their house, and we wait for the “war supply” trains to come by. She knew I loved trains and the gigantic steam engine locomotives that drove them. The train Engineers would always blow their whistles ans alute me as they drove by. I was in my little world of glory. She always pointed out the two American Flags on the front of these locomotives, and, she would cross her heart with the sign of the cross and rant so proudly, “God Bless America”, I still remember her every move of those days...a true patriotic American from head to toe. I loved her dearly.
