How many American high school boys today could compare to these 1960s guys? What's the difference between high school kids of the 1960's vs high school kids today? ... About 30 lbs.

In the Tucson area before the 70’s the high school yearbooks had mostly white kids, a few Chinese, very, very few Mexicans. Now it has changed. I think the advent of air conditioning lured them over. The settlers of Tucson were tough!

In some (too many) it’s countered by a proverbial loss of weight between the ears as they’ve been indoctrinated rather than educated.

There are a combination of factors:
- Less exercise in school
- Less activity in general - fewer playgrounds, more kids playing on video games instead of physical activity
- More access to high calorie foods
- Parents who encourage this
We have no television (or Netflix) in our house and the kids below 15 aren't allowed video games
We don't keep snacks or white bread or packaged goods or much sweets in the house, but plenty of fruits and dark bread
Sometimes home-made cakes (not super-healthy yes, but healthier than more store bought stuff)
