The most surprising statistic of the last presidential election was that 53 percent of white women overall, and close to 60 percent in suburban and rural areas, voted for Donald Trump
These same women also voted overwhelmingly in favor of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in 2012, and favored Republicans by 22 points in the 2014 midterms. They gave less support to Trump than to Romney, but when is the last time a suburban focus group of upscale moms was a chatty pro-Trump coffee klatch? They talk one way in a group, and vote another way in private.
Maybe “closet conservatives” are also laying low, ready to surprise us again. There is no question that the social pressure on people today — and conservative women in particular — is intense to conform to more liberal stereotypes. Why are conservatives hiding? Well, for one reason, it could torpedo their relationships. Recent research indicates that one in 10 couples, married or not, have ended their relationships due to a battle over political differences. For younger millennials, this tension over politics is greater: 22 percent of couples have ended a relationship over political differences
Another reason people are hiding is that the First Amendment applies to Congress but it does not apply to your employer: In most workplaces, you can be fired for your political views.
"Roseanne” is ringing cultural bells that put back some balance in the world of entertainment. It shows that for every trend in America, there is a countertrend. Perhaps it will help other Roseannes to come out of the closet, and just maybe we will all get back to respecting one another’s political views instead of seeking to demean those we oppose — and that will make for a healthier democracy.

I just don’t trust this woman. Actors in Hollywood are like pitbulls. Never know when something will spark in their brain and they turn around and maul you.
Of those couples which split over political differences, who initiated the split, the liberal or the conservative?
If these same women voted strongly for Romney and Republicans in Congressional elections, why the big surprise that they voted for Trump?
Or does the writer of this article just assume that these women would be eager to vote for Hillary so we would have a woman president?
Or did they think these women would be shocked, just shocked, that Trump said the word pussy but was not referring to someone’s feline pet?
The lib-nut-media have worked real hard to ignore them and now they somehow see them sneaking out of the closet?

I haven’t seen her new show but looking like Mr. b is going to tonight. Unfortunately, it interferes with NCIS and the show that follows Roseanne is that homo show The Middle with I refuse to watch. What with NBC scheduling those two together?
I don’t think she’s crazy. She knows better than to end up a Rosie O’Donnell loser. She’s already half way there(fat, ugly + big mouth). It just may be a business decision for which you can’t knock.
His last production before his death from oral cancer, was the film Duets, which starred his daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow.....her mother is actress BlYthe Danner.
Paltrow was a "tolerant and compassionate" Democrat (gag).
However, this "kindly liberal" reportedly refused to cast actor Dwight Schultz for a role on St. Elsewhere because the actor, a political conservative, supported Ronald Reagan.
Schultz is also a Catholic laden with all those nasty do's and don'ts.
Bruce was a real nice guy......he left Blythe for seven years and lived with another woman while still married to Blythe.

Me neither. It all sounds like a set up. I never liked her first show and didn’t watch it. It just wasn’t funny or any good, IMO.
Conservative women are everywhere. You can tell us by our intelligence, beauty, work ethic...and by the FACT that we’re not BITCHIN’ 24/7 or murdering our own unborn children.
I haven’t watched Hollywood movies in a very long time except for old ones I can find on youtube or streaming sites.
Why is the liberal media pushing this woman so hard aa if any of these actors or celebs opinions are supposed to matter? I just hate seeing people fall for it.
I know that this article is trying to be sympathetic to conservative women, but it seems somewhat insulting. Conservative women were never in the closet. They’re only in the closet to liberal reporters who don’t take notice of them.
The 1st episode sent one message the 2nd one sent another. I am afraid the show is going to be used to promote the Gay and liberal agenda. The 1st episode was just to lure people in.
I could have sworn she said she was raised a communist. Maybe that was someone else but I thought it was her..
