IC Editors note: Hot Press magazine is Irelands Rolling Stone, vastly influential, especially with younger readers. Niall Stokes, its (sic) longtime editor, has issued a direct challenge to Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg to stay out of the Irish abortion referendum.
In the upcoming referendum, Irish people will be voting on whether to Repeal the 8th Amendment to the constitution. And already it has been confirmed that anti-choice groups have engaged Kanto, a company similar to Cambridge Analytica, which is run by former Brexit strategist Thomas Borwick, to target the most vulnerable and persuadable voters.
Facebook told us that they had plans in development, and asked for time following which they would talk us through their protocols. We have been waiting and have seen nothing in the meantime which suggests that they intend to properly monitor the nature and content of advertising (in the way that happens in all other forms of publishing and broadcasting).
We believe that Facebook, Twitter, Google and other tech companies should be subject to the same rules as other publishers. They must be held accountable for anything and everything they publish, no matter who puts it into the public domain. They are selling ads on the back of what they publish. They must be forced to take full responsibility for it. That is for the long haul. In the meantime, it is time to ask questions of the founder and boss of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

Facebook ads are little bits of fluff that have swung absolutely nothing ever. Sold some crappy Chinese merchandise, but that's about it.
As if the other side - the pro-death side - doesn’t use it.
If they don’t want influence from advertisers, don’t watch TV, don’t read magazines, don’t use Facebook etc...
But it’s not that. They only want pro-life to not be able to have influence.
My impression is that the average age of Rolling Stone readers is about the same as the average of of the Rolling Stones. That is about 73.
Young People are just not that into the goings on of 70-something musicians.
Here are a few geriatrics they had on their cover LAST YEAR!
Aging rocker Bruce Srpingsteen, age 68
dead at age 69, rocker David Bowie
Bass Player for a defunct rock band Pink Floyd that was popular in the 1970s, Roger Waters, age 74
Dec 2016: Obscure folk singer Leonard Cohen, dead at 82
+ interviews with The Rolling Stones and Neil Young
Neil Young, age 72
recent picture of the Rolling Stones.
Keith and Mick are both 73.
I remember Hot Press being on newsstands in Dublin; it’s only been around since 1977. This Stokes character probably has a lot of skeletons in his closet, if one looks closely enough.
Now we know where the USSR went , it’s now called Facebook
Is most of their advertising from international tax accountants?
You too can become a Dutch band and avoid paying Irish taxes.
Facebook has got to be one of the pro-abortion organizations on the planet. And people worry about them taking the “anti-choice” side?
It speaks volumes about how little the communists know about Conservatives. They’ve been caracturizing us for so long, they’ve come to believe their own lies. Most Conservatives and Libertarians DON’T use fakebook because we know it tracks it’s users.
