I failed to keep situational awareness one night after I got home from work. I live in the hood and its not unusual to see people walking, so I got complacent.
I parked the car and noticed someone walking by on the sidewalk and just dismissed it out of hand. I got out of my car and went toward the carport to feed my dog in the backyard. As I scooped up some food to throw over the fence, I saw he had walked 3/4 the way up my driveway without saying a word.
He was almost on top of me, hoody and all, and I was basically cornered. Fortunately, I had presence of mind to just open the gate and my big ol goofy lab came running out straight at him. She is aggressively friendly and didn’t bite, but would jump all over you.
He turned and ran off, and after 15 minutes of running around the neighborhood, she got bored and came back home. I treated her to all the lunchmeat I had in the fridge.
I don’t make that mistake anymore. I got lucky!

Had that been my wife, and he had “grunted” to within seven yards of her in that alley — he would not have walked away...

I would like to see another video, where a white guy fires a gun into the ground repeatedly while chasing this black man and then stops at the end telling him how stupid he was to run.

In her court trial for using lethal self-defense, all that matters is that she had a reasonable belief that she was in imminent peril of death or grave injury (like rape) before she revoked his breathing privileges.
A man, chasing a woman into a dark alley, making grunting noises... has done enough to justify his own summary execution. This particular jackass is very lucky that he was allowed to live to give his sanctimonious lecture of nonsense.
