I saw the first leaves poking out of the raspberry canes I kept on my smaller plants to give them another year of growing, but nothing on the big bushes I cut to the ground yet. I'm itching to plant my 300 feet of fences with sunflower seeds but it still freezes at night and I picked up some jiffy pots to start some black eyed susans in because most of mine have gotten a little old and need to be replaced.

But right now the only things my yard is suitable for is ducks and cattails. Rain has left everything swampy and even puddled in the low section.

If we get much more rain, the earth worms will be floating. Those sunflowers do need it to be past the cool and damp, IIRC.
