I can see mistaking a young bear for a dog from a distance, but how in hell could anyone continue to confuse one for the other after getting close and actually touching it? And once it grew up? This guy is either lying, blind, or a moron.
Our neighbors had a cockapoo dog. They took the dog camping. When they went to Yellowstone, sure enough, a woman thought they had a bear on a leash.
More than likely his eyes were only half open or from squinting in the sunlight.....
