Wife and I discovering that we need to wait longer into the early spring before starting seeds. Tomato and pepper seed were started February 15. It’s still chilly at night and our tomatoes are showing blossoms...in our mini greenhouses.

We’ll have to put them out in late March/early April, really before they’re ready. We’ve rigged some freeze covers for our gardens and may need them this week.

Hubby always gets stuff going too early too. He covered the green house plants with row cover last night just to be safe.

I just wait. Hard as it is - In my plan nothing except taters and winter crops gets planted until last week of March or First week of April.

I find it is too easy to get excited about spring coming and plant too early. I started some broccoli inside and I’m afraid it’s going to get too big and leggy before I can plant it.

I am getting overwhelmed by all the different planting times, fertilizing, trimming trees…

So I started a spreadsheet, organized by month, to tell me when to do all these things. Once again I have already missed some important dates so hopefully this will keep me on track next year. And the rest of this year.
