I'm confident we all have the same ultimate wish, and that is to be adequately and correctly informed. Sometimes that looks like killing the messenger. Don't take it personally, you aren't the only one to present the "omnibus can be ignored by the president" message, and certainly won't be the last.
My "sigh" was because the contention and answer appear about half a dozen times in this thread. There is no quick cure for "it gets repetetive," and I'll wager that two months from now, there will still be a remnant that believes "omnibus" connotes something different from "appropriations."
On the subject of "castle interpretation," we don't know for sure what is correct. I was just sharing, I think for the first time, that I didn't buy the prevailing theory. And on that subject, it is possible I am wrong and the prevailing theory is correct.
So you are saying there’s no difference legally between an OMNIBUS bill vs a budget bill? Then where are folks coming up with the purported big difference from? What about the purported record of OBummer ignoring all the OMNIBUS bills for his 8 years and doing what he jolly well wanted with the money thereby provided?
