I'll wager you didn't see this on ANY national news.
A teacher mistook conbstruction noise for gun shots and sounded the alarm. However, one shot was fired - by a responding Broward COunty Deputy Sheriff.

For 20 or 30 years the elevator in the Tucson Police Department sported a bullet hole. I finally found out why from an officer who knew the story. Some officer was practicing his fast draw on the way up to a big meeting on the top floor.
The bullet got accidently fired, then the door opened to reveal the Chief and all the top officers staring at the man with the smoking gun. From what the officer told me the accidental shooter lived it down and was a fine officer.
