ichard Sherman's marvelous and memorable run in Seattle is over.

Sherman told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero he has been released by the Seahawks after seven seasons in the Pacific Northwest. Sherman's departure opens up $11 million in salary-cap space for the roster-churning 'Hawks.

During an interview with KIRO-FM's Gee Scott on Friday, Sherman said, "We've had conversations and they've told me that they're going to allow me to go into free agency."

Looks like Seattle is getting rid of the troublemakers. First Michael Bennett now Sherman.

Was he singing “Easy Come Easy Go” or “Cried Like a Baby”?

...or maybe I’m thinking of some other Sherman...

It just might be that the trouble makers were so focused on how to offend former fans that they weren’t focused on the game. As a result, their less than their potential performance on the field makes them not worth the money.

Any team willing to touch him with a 10-foot pole will rue the day.

...or maybe he was singing “Hello Muddah; Hello Faddah”?

Or was that still another Sherman.

Or was he reaching for the dials on the way-back machine? Or was that still another Sherman.

Or was he screaming “War is Hell!”; or was that another ...

I don’t think it’s the “trouble-maker” angle as much as it’s the fact that Sherman is getting old and has become injury prone and has lost a step. He’ just isn’t worth $11 million anymore. The shelf life of an NFL athlete is very short for most.

Or “Moving’ on up, to the Eastside” or was that Sherman Hemsley?

Great. Let me know when they’re all gone and Goodell is gone.

Then maybe I’ll watch at some future time. Till then?. Well Bye!

I’ve heard the average career length of an NFL player is three years. There are always young players coming out of college, ready to take their places.

Age 30 is an old man in the NFL.

In 1982 I had the opportunity to attend breakfast sponsored by the NFL Alumni. I sat at a table with Packers Willie Davis and Jerry Kramer. I was not packers fan, but just WOW. The worst part was when we were all standing around, watching the retirees limping with bad hips and knees blown out. Some of them in their early 40s.

I love the video of him on the sidelines at the end of SB 49...when the Seahags were on the 1 yard line.Huge grin on his face as the ball is snapped which then turns to a look of shock as Malcolm Butler etched his name into Super Bowl history.

In 1967 I sat in a Army mess hall where most NCO....E-5 thru E-9 could hardly move....many had 25 or 30 years in the Army and were pay about $97 per month. Why would any normal person feel sorry for a thug that could play a damn game and $9 hundred thousand per year..actually a 1/2 year....Bull..one does what they want and can. Stop crying because you feel bad for Football players....WTF

I can foresee a possibility that The Patriots could pick him up. Randy Moss was an incorrigible jerk but The Pats organization got him to straighten up and fly right. With great effect.

I doubt it will happen but they are looking to shore up their D-secondary.

Or say with all candor, "If asked, I will not run; if selected, I will not serve."
