The measure would go a step beyond the Clinton-Sanders Unity Commission proposals to change the superdelegate system. An “absurd and undemocratic idea,” one DNC member said in a memo to party leaders.

I really felt bad for Bernie, since the deck was stacked against him from the get-go.

BUT.... he had to know that. Right ? From the beginning he had to know.

What I don’t get, and the Republicans do it as well, is that these so-called superdelegates actually get to vote twice, don’t they?

They can vote in their home state as a registered voting citizen just like the rest of us. But, in at election time they can vote again in a super delegate category.

I really don’t get the purpose, especially when they can vote against their home state outcome.

Hillary won more votes than Obama in 2008.

...because they have many other ways to rig elections

Yeah... I guess they could just hack their own computer system that scores the non-superdelegate voting. No one will ever find out.

Or maybe go with the coin-flipping toss. That seemed to work well.

They should also consider getting rid of those coins with heads on both sides that they use for their coin tosses to determine who won their primary.

Absurd and undemocratic ideas are staples of the DNC.

But, yeah, “super delegates” was their most brazen form of cheating.

“Will elimination of the super delegates result in most of the delegates coming from the far left of the party?”

Yes. The Democrat Party rank and file is chocked full of lunatics. Party leaders have spent decades attracting the craziest of the crazies. The wealthy elites have strained to maintain marginal control of the narratives though super delegates and other devices. Once the elites lose their little remaining control , hell-broth will be flowing freely for all of America to witness.

Don't say anything. I'm already afraid Democrats won't take the necessary steps to complete their destruction.

The superdelegates are a voice of the DNC establishment, a parallel to the GOPe. If they eliminate the supers, it will mean the capture of the Democrat party by extreme left wingers, socialists or worse. It will be the functional end of the democrat party on the national level. That’s why they won’t do it

Ya got it. Go to the top of the class.

The problem with the DNC super-delegates is that there are far too many of them. The Republicans don't have nearly as many relative to the elected delegate base. Democrat super-delegates were nearly 15% of all the delegates, effectively controlling the nomination.

It was why Hillary got the nomination rather than Sanders... people went into the process totally demoralized... and few people were willing to run against Hillary.

It had nothing to do with Trump’s win... he did that by himself - - well with lots of help from the deplorables.

The primary system gained traction because it gave enormous power to the media.

If the media did not like a candidate, if they were not Progressive enough, the media had two chances to knock them out, in the primary and in the general election.

The super-delegates are to give the party bosses control over who is chosen, even with the primaries.

What’s the point of being a party leader if you can’t stuff the ballot box?
