UNION COUNTY, N.C. -- A Union County school bus driver has been arrested after police said she posted threatening social media posts targeted toward Porter Ridge Middle School and its staff members.

Deputies told WSOC that 32-year-old Lashaunda Hooker Beachum is facing two felony charges for making false reports concerning mass violence on educational property.

Authorities said Beachum used a fake profile to post the threat on Facebook saying she was going shoot up the school.

It also mentioned several members of the school staff by name as well as "immigrants" living in suburban estates.

Union County...a sleepy suburb of Charlotte, NC.

Or as we like to call it around here...Onion County.

I’m amazed at the stupidity of the things people post on social media.

I wonder if the immigrants she refers to are the influx of freakin’ New Yorkers. Union County is infected with them. They’re like cancer.

...but I understand.”

This is my local district. The Sheriff’s Department determined that she didn’t have the capability actually to do it. Some parents wanted the school to be closed for the day, but others pointed out that if school closed every time there was a threat, it would never be open.

As a homeschooler, I haz a tiny schadenfreude going on here.

I think she was trying to be the first black woman to be a mass shooter. That would make us white males look a little better.

School officials told Channel 9 that Beachum started working with
Union County Public Schools on Jan. 3. She was fired on Friday.

***********

Well she made it just over 2 months on the job.

I don’t see how anyone could send their kids to a school with that many threats.

If students knew a threat would close the school every time, they’d set up a schedule to keep the threats coming.
