I have a friend who would rather live in a studio apartment in NYC than have a 1000 acres in Montana. I’m just the opposite, but it is his mentality that leads to the cost of living in NYC.

And I guess you have that 1000 acres in Montana?
I used to want to live in a studio apartment/minimalist, in my twenties. I have several acres now, and I wonder why I can’t just live in a studio apartment, somewhere, without all this work! Funny how life ends up!

That’s because it’s the best city in the world.

Land, space (from people) and living among like minded people (conservative) in God’s country is the way to go in the USA.

Now that living in Phoenix (area) is getting so crowded, I am starting to thing either picture you paint is superior than over-crowded suburban living where you have to drive everywhere.
Give me long, windy and empty country roads or let me walk everywhere or take a train but THIS type of living is for the birds.
