Chris Pratt is facing backlash from social media users after he posted a tweet in which he sent prayers to Kevin Smith following a heart attack. Pratt wrote that Smiths Clerks inspired him when he was a senior in high school and included the line praying for you. Smith suffered a heart attack on February 25 following a comedy show in California. The director said he almost died.
Many Twitter users responded in fury to Pratts well-wishes, mocking the fact he was praying for Smith. The backlash cited the politicians who sent prayers and thoughts to the survivors of the Parkland, Florida high school shooting while not actually attempting to enforce changes to gun control laws. James Gunn, Pratts director on the Guardians of the Galaxy films, quickly came to the actors defense. In a lengthy Twitter thread, Gunn attempted to explain the differences between the connotation of praying in these two examples.

Social Media is turning people into pack-mentality scum.
Lots of trash talk online.
Brain-dead millennial trolls.
So now we’re weaponizing prayer.
Will it require a background check anytime soon?
Remember, at their National Convention, the Dems booed God.
And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin.
John 5:21-22
Yes, and along with everything else the Demonic Party does, it has yet to be responded to appropriately.
Isnt there a photo rule for Chris Pratt threads ? Seems like there should be .
Hate-filled, close-minded degenerates.
My prayers and hope for a speedy recovery for the comedian who had the heart attack.
A number of years ago I got a call from my church asking if I could play the organ for a wedding that afternoon. The groom had a very bad case of leukemia and had only a short time to live, but he and his fiancee decided to go ahead with the wedding. Our priest prayed for him and anointed him and he recovered completely. He is still doing fine today. His doctors advised him not to father children because of the treatment he had undergone. He and his wife have two fine, healthy sons.
Whenever I have doubts about prayer, I remember him.
That’s all you !
We’d just put up an early parks and rec photo anyway.
Imagine how tough it was for Gunn to do that. To defend a prayer-up AND demand gun control in the same tweet.
What do these lefties want Pratt to do besides pray? Follow Fattie Smith around and slap the food out of his hand?
Smith may be rude and crude but is a good guy. He was a great friend of Alan Rickman and his tributes to Alan when he died and since are so heartwarming.
I had seen his posts inviting people to that show filming. If he hadnt been in public that night, he may not have survived a heart attack.
My first thought was that the mob attacking Christians is now online instead of running along the streets of ancient Rome with torches. Otherwise its the same.
Chris thunk it over, then OK'd a rule for you.
Gunn says:
“Prayers alone will not change the world.”
If that were true, then prayer would truly be worthless and he shouldn’t have any objection to people who ridicule prayer.
The entire premise of prayer is that it CAN change the world, because God CAN change the world, and God is who we are supplicating with prayer. If you are objecting to the idea of God, at least be consistent, don’t give me some hokum that prayer in one circumstance is good and in another bad. You either accept prayer has power or you think it is totally worthless.
He’s a bit of a moonbat, but a pretty decent guy. I remember being at a ComicCon where there was nearly a riot because they cancelled what was supposed to be a free preview screening of one of his films, after people had lined up for hours to get in.
Apparently the venue didn’t anticipate the crowd and couldn’t accommodate it, and there wasn’t anything he could do to get them to change their mind, so instead he went to his booth and stayed their for hours, letting all the fans get a chance to at least talk to him and get free autographs.
Gawdalmighty! How innocent is it to send prayers for someone who has suffered a health setback? For that Pratt gets attacked?!
