KIPP Renaissance High to be closed Tuesday due to threat

KIPP Renaissance High School in the Bywater will be closed Tuesday (Feb. 27) "out of an abundance of caution" after administrators learned of a threat to the school made via social media, school officials said in an announcement Monday night.

KIPP Renaissance administrators were notified Monday evening of the threat, according to the statement from KIPP New Orleans Schools.

School officials launched an investigation and contacted the New Orleans Police Department, which is also investigating the threat.

Another day, another scare. It looks like these "threats" will become as routine as bomb scares were when I was young.

At least it wasn't a square root symbol this time.

Happened at my kids private school in Little Rock. They didn’t “close it”, but hired off duty cops in every building. Attendance in my kids’ two rooms was 40%.
