Leaked audio recordings said to be of Russian mercenaries in Syria capture expressions of lament and humiliation over a battle in early February involving US forces and Russian nationals. Published by Polygraph.info — a fact-checking website produced by Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, news organizations that receive funding from the US government — the audio recordings paint a picture of Russian mercenaries essentially sent to die in an ill-conceived advance on a US-held position in Syria. Polygraph says the audio recordings are from a source close to the Kremlin.

While it’s nice to hear our military doing well, I worry about the pro-war undertones in the news. I don’t want to fight Russia anywhere, and I don’t want us fighting anyone in Syria, yet the establishment cheers for a war against Russia in Syria. No, thank you!

This is a situation where demarcation lines were drawn and Russia violated them. They knew not to entangle with troops that were fighting ISIS is specific areas that have US Special Ops embedded.
They gambled and lost badly. Putin doesn’t mind gambling with Russian lives.
I wish I could believe this stuff. It sounds like CIA propaganda to me. It sounds like a set up to make the US population think any war with Russia would be an easy win.

If your scenario pans out to be true someday, then that will lead to a broad escalation and open war between Russia and the US. Trump would almost be forced to escalate unless he does the wise thing and simply pulls us out. Either way he gets attacked as a war monger or a coward, it becomes an untenable position for him to be in, politically speaking!

One other point....a 500 man attempted attack on a US held positon is a major operation. The Americans now know to be aware that the Russians are willing to try major force against them. The Americans will be very difficult to surprise and dislodge along the lines you describe. The Russians now have to understand that they have majorly “PO’ed the Americans over there and I suspect an increased chill in Trump’s efforts to try to constructively engage with Russia will settle in. Trump almost has to put distance between us and Russia now. This is a major incident of aggression against us! Putin was playing chess by sending out his pawn mercenaries, but we don’t play chess, we play sledgehammer smash on the chessboard!
As for aircover...they bring their air cover in another attack with targeting missiles on our aircraft, we will bring everything in and now you have an airwar in the sky in addition to battles on the ground. We will be expecting what you describe and things will massively escalate. The back channel diplomacy lines must be white hot right now!

Pride has always been man’s undoing. Deep state guys feeling as though they have the levers of control fully in their hands always reach a place of miscalculation, to the misfortune of the regular populace. I fear we shall pay a heavy price for dropping our guard and our national virtue(like the OT described Israel once “as being discovered like prostitutes with their skirts over their faces with their nakedness exposed for all to see!”) by allowing these evil men and women to burrow in like weevils despoiling cotton! I fear the loss of life will be horrendous and our nation will be torn asunder.
