Authorities are searching for a Corvette that was stolen out of Franklin County.
Police say the 1978 Chevy Corvette 25th Anniversary Stingray was stolen from the Gerald area before February 20.
On February 20, police say a woman was spotted filling the car up with gas before she drove off without paying.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of the car or woman, call police.

Quite possibly the worst Corvette ever built. Terrible rear lines, horrifically anemic engine, electrical problems out the wazoo, etc.
I wonder what the “owner” paid her to take it away? /s

“Quite possibly the worst Corvette ever built.”
Yes, my first thought was that she might have been doing someone a favor by “stealing” it.

Send Wayne Carini out to look for it.
He seems to be pretty good at finding cars.

Real Silver Anniversary edition Corvettes we're silver over black
The model in the picture can be bought all day long on Craigslist for 5 grand or less. Really nice ones run 8 to 10 grand.

Quite frankly, the C4 was way worse...

We need a special prosecutor named Mueller to investigate this issue.

All 'Vettes that year had little '25' badges, but the real Anniversary Editions were all silver, and there were plenty of them.

You would have to work hard to be worse than the underpowered 1954 with its 6 cyl engine and a body that leaked like a sieve when it rained.

First thought someone was hard up for transport to move a load out of Franklin County, Virginia. Then I noted the K-call for KMOV.

At least the coke bottle years had body lines.... yeah, the c4 was an ultimate sports turd. And I sold Chevy back then. To be fair just about everything sucked across the globe from 75 to 95.
Coolest thing about those years was a rich man could spend 25000 on a ‘Vette. And you could build a Nova or F body that would suck the paint off it for 5000

There was one by my best friends house in 78. I was 18. That Vette was so hot !
My 2002 2500 HD pickup probably handles and rides better though. Thinking it might outrun it too !
My 68 RS/SS 396 Camaro , now that's a hot car. By 78 the smog motors had rolled in.

Nothing like “1978” being called “vintage” to make ya feel old.

LOL, reminds me of when my Dad made the mistake of buying a Vega. When I worked for him I would regularly go into the South Bronx, Bushwick, Newark and other such lovely areas. I would leave it unlocked, sometimes with the engine running, (if that's watchya wanna call it) and the sh!tbox would still be there!
