Check your credit card and cancel it if the card is sponsorded by any company with an adverse opinion of the NRA!
Next thing to do is signup to get a NRA Credit Card.
I’m not about to go through the trouble of hassling myself over such things.
Cancelling a card has an adverse affect on a Credit Score.
I am with you on this in that I believe these things are personal decisions. If someone opts not to pursue these things as you do, I don’t think less of them.
I am going to pursue these things, but that is my individual decision. That is the way we, as conservatives should conduct ourselves on matters like this.
When canceling any credit card, make sure you tell them to note account closed by consumer. And to send you a letter stating that fact. Otherwise, the credit reporting companies will see it as the account being closed on you, and your credit rating will take a hit.
“”Cancelling a card has an adverse affect on a Credit Score””
That’s what I’ve always heard...
Future genocide credit cards...
I would pay the card off by a transfer if necessary. I would then charge a cup of coffee to it each month and then pay that off when I get the statement. That keeps your credit good and charges them a bunch of money to keep you active.
So does buying with cash. Next.
Errrrrr..... Don't think it is that simple.
For instance, having multiple accounts open with 0 balances actually hurts your score more than cards having balances as open accounts have more credit that can be accessed.
We just refinanced our house and closed several accounts. Credit score hasn't changed.
Really!!!
Just quit using it and call them up and tell them you quit using it and why.
Take the hit. Unless you’re an idiot, your credit score is fine.
Actually one should not keep a card that he isn’t using. When I contacted AMEX they just cancelled that card and reissued one not affiliated with Delta!! The guy said they were getting a lot of people doing that!!
Just cancelled liflock, been with them 20 years.
As far as I know AMEX hasn’t taken an adverse stance toward the NRA so I would not want to hurt them...Delta airlines is the one I’m pissed at. This is back door way of sending a message to Delta. I also contacted delta by email.
“Just cancelled liflock, been with them 20 years.”
Didn’t lifelock try that on Rush a few years back?
Whoever it was, they soon recanted,
Great! Here are a couple things to keep in mind when cancelling a credit card - (1): it reduces your total approved debt and thus it increases your total debt utilization ratio (total debt on all cards divided by total approved debt). The higher utilization ratio then lowers your FICI credit score (2). If you close your oldest credit card account, your profile loses points ( you get FICO points for having long- established credit). (3) it is possible the bank wont properly report to the credit bureaus that the card was closed by You the consumer. If this happens, your FICO score could go down because it could look like the bank closed your account. - Item (1) above can be avoided by making sure your total outstanding balances are very low or zero when you close the one offending card, or you could open the new account before closing the offending old one. Item (2) above would be an unavoidable point loss if youre closing your longest- established account, sorry. Item (3) above should be avoidable by instructing the bank in writing to be sure to report to all 3 major credit bureaus that You the Consumer are closing the account - and then check your credit scores afterwards to be sure they didnt go down. Best regards, fhc
