Team USA Strikes 1st Curling Gold But Olympics Ratings Slide To 2018 Low
Deadline Hollywood ^ | February 24, 2018 | Dominic Patten

After almost being eliminated earlier in the XXIII Winter Games, last night’s all-time first gold medal in curling for Team USA was a sweeter than usual win for skipper John Shuster and crew. However, played past the midnight hour on NBC Sports Network, the victory, witnessed by a crowd-pleasing First Daughter Ivanka Trump and others from the US delegation there for Sunday’s Closing Ceremony, did nothing to help NBC primetime ratings bottom line. And bottom is the operative word today as Olympics fatigue has definitely set-in for the final stretch of the 2018 international competition for the Comcast-owned outlet.

How much did the gold medal winner curl? I have strong biceps and may consider entering next Olympics.

Ivanka Trump holds Luke Shuster, son of U.S. skip John Shuster, next to athletes

Seems like U.S.A Curling team or Skipper John Shuster is Pro TRUMP =P

Too much anti-American spoiledsports. Didn’t even want to watch.

Wow, What a victory. Now maybe the parents will stop paying all of their living expenses and for “Curling School” or whatever it is and they can get real jobs and stuff.

The Olympics were no different than the Oscars, the Grammy’s or The View. Designed to pervert and put down America. Now we know that EVERYBODY is gay! Straight people are freaks and America sucks.

I watched a little of the hockey, other than that I had no interest watching the Pence haters, Trump resisters or giving NBC ratings... so I tuned out with one hope, that there would be no gold for anyone who would take a knee during our National Anthem!

Seems like NBC tried not to show Ivanka too much - if it were an Obama, they would have had split screen coverage with a continuous shot.

Probably the only group of athletes we have that are not LGBTQ, if one judges by the biased NBC coverage.

However, played past the midnight hour on NBC Sports Network

I had to search for it yesterday and found I could only get it at some un-Godly hour when pretty much everyone, not on a third shift, is in bed. Just got done watching it and it was a great game.

What other sport do these geniuses show very late at night or early morning, which are having their Gold Medal final game?

Curling has been a mainstay of the Olympics for ages, have tried to watch it but I always get the visual of people furiously trying to clean a floor in front of a moving anti-tank landmine.

I was going to say that it looks like curling is cheap compared to say, figure skating. But maybe not. Figure skating is expensive because of hiring the coach.
Dues at the local curling club are fairly low....but maybe to get to Olympic level you need to shell out big money....I’m not sure.
