But what’s the foreign box office?
What’s a Coogler?
I guess I’m too old to get it. Did the audience think it was about the 60’s-70’s radicals? Or, am I just being racis ‘.
I can’t imagine throwing away good money and burning 2-3 hours of one’s life to watch this garbage. P. T. Barnum was right.
More wonderment for the comic book crowd of adult children.
Other than the Batman reboot and Wonder Woman, D.C. Comics haven't done jack at the box office or in terms of creating a viable franchise.
All of the Marvel movies with probably the sole exception of Fantastic Four has hauled @ss at the box office.
I really thought this movie would be Marvel's Waterloo, but I'm eating crow. I guess either fans got tired of the racist crap and decided to spend their money to shut the haters up or it truly was a spectacular movie without the PC and SJW crap. I'll definitely catch it on a matinee now.
Go see “The 15:17 to Paris” instead. Real guys who believe in God who are real heroes. When Spencer Stone, unarmed, recreates his charge down the aisle towards a terrorist with an AKM. It’s breathtaking.
The impression I’m getting is it’s a pretty good movie with some positive themes and not a lot of SJW agitprop. Frankly I’m relieved.
Plot sounds stupid
Vibranium?
Black Leftists are FURIOUS that the film is too “conservative” and “devalues” Black American “revolutionaries.”
I’ll reserve judgment & wait until I see it myself. I haven’t been to the theater in years, (getting agoraphobic in my old cranky age). Will check it out when it comes to home video.
Not a real comic hero fan, but I’ll probably watch it sometime on Netflix.
The box office totals are massive. Very impressive.
Saw a gushing emotional blurb about this on the evening news, claiming it was “breaking racial barriers”. They showed blacks in line, blacks all excited, blacks dressing in African garb - no other “colors” were represented. Seemed kinda racial to me.
So, it’s not a biopic about Stokely Carmichael and Huey P. Newton?
So far, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” is the season’s leader with $379m. BP has had a very good start, but see if it holds up. “Jumanji” actually fell out of first place, then came back.
Most disappointing is “15:13 to Paris,” and I’m not talking about the mere $26m box office. I looked forward to this movie, but it is a snorefest. Basically three guys on a Eurotour for over one hour, with just 15 minutes of action. Even then, there is no story, no conflict, no one changes, no conflict. Without conflict, no drama, without drama, no story.
“12 Strong” was a vastly better movie. Good conflict between the American and the leader of the Northern Alliance, impossible but real challenges, etc.
Why?
We should be encouraging liberal blacks in the NFL to leave the “oppression” in the USA and to Make Wakanda Great Again by rebuilding that amazing nation on African soil.
“Prove Whitey has failed by rebuilding Wakanda to it’s former glory!
