During Monday’s Fox Sports 1 broadcast of “The Herd,” Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long shrugged off the NFL’s ratings drop being attributed to players like teammate Malcolm Jenkins protesting the National Anthem.
Long said that “a lot of people are having more fun watching football than ever” and players are putting their social consciences over the league’s success.

Many of these guys would be earning minimum wage if it weren’t for football. I think they need to think long and hard about the impact declining viewership has on themselves. They don’t seem to realize that they run the risk of having Golden Goose for dinner.
Their personal action speak loudly that they have no social conscious. They are rich thugs, seeking fame nothing more. They only develop a “conscious “ when the cameras are pointing at them.

Chris Long grew up as a rich kid and is now a rich man. He can afford to view the NFL this way.

Howie Long’s son loves the SJW spotlight. He’s opened his pie hole and whined about the President several times to get attention. Maybe he wants to run for office as a Democrat after retiring from the National Felons League.

The NFL has been printing money for decades. A 20% loss of viewers/fans just cuts into bloated profits. It will take another 30-40% loss to wake up owners, players and sponsors.

I quit watching pro ball years ago. Haven’t watched college ball for a few. Spend my football energy on high school games these days

The kid grew up as the son of a multi-millionaire football player. Had every advantage in life.
It is great he wants to give back and has a social conscience, but don’t judge the rest of us that had to work for what we have.
I’ve had it with the NFL. Love the competition and the game, but the dancing around after every halfway decent play, the taunting, the cheap shots, the trash talk - even when a team is getting its ass kicked, is getting to be a bit much. Can’t stand it.
You don’t want to go to the White House, fine, don’t go. It’s not a requirement.
