About 40+ years ago when they first started the cross country ski/shooting biathlon I thought I might try out but family and work didn’t match. I just started in mounted shooting when they started it in the Olympics. My riding and shooting didn’t match.

The crooked French judge was banned from judging for three years, but I don’t think she ever went back to judging. I’m trying to remember—didn’t the Olympic big wigs decide that two gold medals had to be awarded for one event that year because of what the French judge did? That entire situation ended up being a disaster.

Yes on the medals, I believe the Canadians and USA each got one. Our skaters were like the tough kids on the block.

Around 15 years ago I got a pair of hockey skates and learned how to skate around them in solidarity with my goalie son. No toe picks. Now I am relearning skating again with figure skates and I am not very good. But I want my toe picks! Now I need them!
