AggroBroad

"What are you so aggravated about?"

"I spent over an hour putting on all of my make-up, coordinating
my pants and blouse and doing my hair.  And l had barely got out
the front door when some strange guy harassed me!"

"Wow.  What did he do?"

"He noticed!"

Leaving aside the issue of Harvey Weinstein-like sexual power brokers, there is another problem here.

Imagine if you will, a very attractive job position being offered by, say, Apple. The job posting goes into great detail about all the perks of the job and the high salary. But the inexperienced HR person who posts the job on a big recruiting website is so excited about attracting a lot of interest that she neglects to put in any information about the required qualifications. At first glance, the posting appears not to require any experience or education at all.

Leaving aside the future of the HR rep with the company, Apple would be completely flooded with hundreds of thousands of inappropriate resumes, and would find it an immensely frustrating task to search through them all to find a few with the required skills and experience.

Now imagine if you will, an attractive young woman who dresses and acts exactly the way she wants and walks out into public places without any particular interest in the kind of people the advertisement of her figure and her costume will attract. What kind of resumes for the open position she is advertising is she gong to attract, and from what kind of people?

Like the inexperienced HR person at Apple, rather than taking the time and making the effort to ensure that her job posting is targeted at qualified individuals, she wants to take a shortcut and blast her advertisement out to the general public - but unlike Apple she expects the government to step in and ban unqualified applicants from contacting her. Because, like the misguided HR rep, she wants to enjoy the power of appealing to that huge audience without taking any responsibility to filter out inappropriate candidates through her own efforts.
