I think the whole point of releasing the memo is to put the pressure on Rosenstein. He’s the only one who signed a FISA warrant who is still a federal employee (not counting McCabe who semi-resigned the other day). They are showing Rosenstein they have the goods on him and could remove him for cause, and the implication is that the only way for him to avoid that is to order Mueller to wrap up the probe.

This wasn’t Rosenstein’s idea.
This came from the Kenyanesian Usurper.
And there was a Constitutional barrier to him being President.
BOTH parties colluded to eviscerate the protections of the natural born citizen clause.

I’m pretty sure that anything Mueller manufactures will have very good grounds for dismissal.

Remember there are a lot more shoes out there to drop.

Trump made A LOT of bad appointments upon coming into office.

It appears that when he had to boot Chris Christie for playing footsie with lobbyists all the wheels started to come off the transition team.

He would have been well-served by better planning.

Criminals shouldn’t be set free simply because they are Democrats! ALL criminals need to be prosecuted and sentenced!

What if he doesn’t want to recuse or step down.

I'm just surprised Trump did not ask for Rosenstein's resignation when he visited him about the memo at the White House a couple of days ago.

That would be a terrible political move. If you want the guy removed, let him get dragged through the mud in a public spectacle so he begs to leave on his own terms.

Even if he fires Mueller or dissolves the Mueller probe, he should still be relieved of his duties.

Donald Trump will be remembered as the only person in the U.S. who could push the Super Bowl to the back pages of the news.

What if he doesn’t want to recuse or step down.

He gets served with a subpoena to appear before a grand jury that has been convened as part of a RICO investigation of the whole matter.

At that point he won't need to step down because he'll be climbing to the top of a tall building in D.C. to off himself.

The problem is - the justice system and the people have allowed, for years, police to obtain warrants without, on surely many occasions, revealing all to the issuing Judge. If/when probable cause can be attacked on the basis of the witholding of relevant information to the Judge which would have undermined the probable cause - then the outcome is charges being dismissed. But the police/justice officials can go their merry way with no repercussions.

I think the difference in this case is that the witholding can be tied directly to an attempt to take down a political rival and thus obstruction of justice. I want to see arrests. If I don’t see arrests then we will have seen the Repubs having failed the nation in their own backyard (if that was not already obvious) and failed to exercise any kind test to their integrity and the rule of law.

That would be an extra added perk, wouldn’t it? Trump has been none too fond of the kneelers, as we all know.

That might explain why Rosenstein was all smiles when he left the White House the other day. He thought he had dodged.
